OSEIA's pitch to the Awesome Foundation

Support Women in Solar at the Awesome Foundation’s finalist fast pitch night. The pitch: In collaboration with Solar Energy International, Energy Trust of Oregon, and Oregon Tradeswomen we are working to offer a pathway for women to enter into the renewable energy industry, particularly focused on creating opportunities for women of color, and those experiencing low income. We will be offering a free, women-led training, serving women already working to build their job skills in October and want to make a mini movie about it!

More about the Awesome Foundation : Awesome Portland gives away 1k grants every other month. We select 5 finalists and invite them to 'pitch' their projects in front an audience and then participate in a Q&A session. The trustees award the cash on the spot to the finalist that best represents something AWESOME. We'll then let the audience pick a 'People's Choice' winner and we'll give that lucky person a 100 bucks. Woohoo!

Diversity in the Construction Trades Summit

  • East County Family Services Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Goal: Jobs on construction projects are a critical component to providing increased economic opportunities to all members of our community. In creating those opportunities and focusing on workforce, we provide an equitable chance for diverse workers to find work on public projects, provide a vehicle for workers to increase their skills and grow their leadership which ultimately leads to the future creation of state certified MWESB contractors.

By offering this Summit, we create an opportunity to bring key stakeholders together, share efforts towards workforce diversity to date, provide tools for implementing strong workforce programs, and work toward a regional approach to workforce equity.

The Diversity in the Construction Trades Summit is hosted by Oregon Tradeswomen and Constructing Hope.
