OSEIA Committees

Much of OSEIA's work is done through our working committees. Committee participation is open to all OSEIA Members.


Policy Committee: The OSEIA Policy Committee is charged with developing proposed policy and policy positions on the broad range of issues that impact the solar industry. The committee will discuss potential policy positions and make recommendations to the OSEIA board as needed.

Community Solar Sub-Committee: The OSEIA Community Solar Sub-Committee is charged with engaging with Oregon’s Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and solar industry stakeholders to develop and/or propose policy and program positions as they impact Oregon’s solar industry. The committee will discuss potential policy and/or program positions and make recommendations to the OSEIA board as needed.The OSEIA Community Solar Sub-Committee is charged with engaging with Oregon’s Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and solar industry stakeholders to develop and/or propose policy and program positions as they impact Oregon’s solar industry. The committee will discuss potential policy and/or program positions and make recommendations to the OSEIA board as needed.

Utility Scale & Land Use: The OSEIA Utility Solar Committee is charged with engaging utility solar PV developers to best serve their business needs and priorities that fall within OSEIA’s ability. Utility solar projects are direct intertie, in front of the meter projects. The committee will set priorities and develop OSEIA efforts to support large scale solar PV development in order to achieve Oregon Solar Plan goals.

Membership Committee: The Membership Committee is charged with ensuring OSEIA members receive proper value and that OSEIA maintains a steady membership revenue stream. The committee will develop new member leads, recommend membership dues levels, oversee new member onboarding and advise member services and communications.

Workforce Development Committee: The OSEIA Workforce Development Committee is charged with advising efforts to develop a skilled and stable, qualified and diverse workforce across Oregon.

Chair: Oriana Magnera


Energy Storage Committee: The OSEIA Storage Sub-Committee is charged with developing the solar industry’s approach and policy positions in connection with storage technology, Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and how it can be coordinated with solar technology. The committee will become a central gathering of technical experts working with storage technology across Oregon’s solar markets and provide guidance to other committees as attention to storage needs arise.

Chair: Mark Farrell


LRT Committee: The OSEIA LRT Sub-Committee is charged with addressing issues related to the Limited Renewable Energy Technician license. Created in the early 2000s, the certification has several issues that may need updating in order to recruit and retain a qualified solar workforce. The committee will work to advise the LRT program update and establish positive relationships with labor and state policy makers.
