Electrician - Journeyman

Job Description:

Inside electricians perform electrical installations, construction, maintenance, repair and service. They work on electrical construction projects ranging from single-family residences to state-of-the-art industrial plants. They install conduits and wire lighting, switches, converters, and complex computerized systems.

Typical certificates, licenses and/or degrees:

*Licenising is important and varies from state to state, check with your state licensing offices for licensed trade opportunities.

Oregon License requirements: OR BOLI requires an apprenticeship 144 - 180 classroom hours per year and 8,000 On-the-job training hours

WA License requirements: 8,000 documented hours working as an electrical trainee under the supervision of a certified electrician. Note: 4,000 hours must be spent working in commercial or industrial installation. Electrical trainees must complete 48 hours of basic trainee classes
